The Woman Behind the Camera

Alexus Brown is a Greensboro, North Carolina–based photographer, creative entrepreneur, and community curator whose work blends luxury, authenticity, and storytelling. Born in New York and raised in Greensboro, she is a proud graduate of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, where she earned her degree in Journalism and Mass Communication with a concentration in Multimedia Journalism.

For more than six years, Alexus has specialized in glamour, beauty, lifestyle, editorial, and branding photography, capturing elevated yet intimate imagery that allows her clients to see themselves in their highest light. Her approach is defined by intentional composition, soft elegance, and a commitment to making every session feel empowering and personal.
Beyond photography, Alexus is the founder of Wine Down Wednesday, a community-oriented experience rooted in creativity, connection, and liberation. Through this series, she curates monthly gatherings that bring together Black artists, photographers, poets, musicians, and entrepreneurs to network, collaborate, and build sustainable creative ecosystems.
She is also the co-founder of Black Arts NC, a growing collective dedicated to cultivating and supporting Black artistry throughout North Carolina, serving as the organizational hub for Wine Down Wednesday and other creative initiatives.
In addition, Alexus is the co-founder of Her Formé, a Black woman–owned Pilates and wellness experience that currently
operates through pop-up events and community sessions, with plans to evolve into a full studio space.

Above all, Alexus is a mother, storyteller, and advocate for intentional artistry and collective care. Her work—whether behind the camera, on the mat, or in community spaces—centers Black joy, empowerment, and self-expression as essential forms of liberation.
